The Jury of the 12th Goldsmithing Competition awards winning pieces
The Portuguese Association of Goldsmithing (APIO – Associação Portuguesa da Indústria de Ourivesaria) received 11 pieces created for the “Centennial Anniversary of Amalia Rodrigues’s Birthday”, which took place in a challenging year to all of us. An exhibit will be held to showcase the pieces for one month at Ourivesaria Sarmento (Rua do Ouro, 251, Lisboa), starting January 16th.
The jury was composed of the following members: Carlos Caria, the president of APIO’s board of directors; Rui Órfão, on behalf of The Amália Rodrigues Foundation; Rodrigo Sarmento, from Ourivesaria Sarmento; Cláudio Passos, one of the most distinguished goldsmiths of the Lisbon area; and Ricardo Flamínio, the director of JoiaPro, a specialized magazine of the goldsmithing industry.
