100 years of Joalharia Ferreira Marques
On June 22, 2026, Joalharia Ferreira Marques celebrated the historic milestone of its 100th anniversary. “To mark this special date, we experienced unique moments, from the symbolic cake-cutting at our premises to the exclusive concert at the Church of São Bartolomeu do Beato. These were celebrations marked by emotion, sharing, and elegance, which will remain in our memory forever. We thank everyone who was part of this special moment and helped us pay tribute to a century dedicated to beauty, glamour, and art,” the company’s representatives revealed.
Founded in 1926 by Adriano Ferreira Marques, great-grandfather of the current owner — José Filipe Ferreira Marques da Guerra Maio — Joalharia Ferreira Marques is located on the glamorous Praça do Rossio, in the heart of Lisbon. Passionate about jewelry, this family has been connected to the detailed craftsmanship of jewelry and goldsmithing since the late 19th century. It was through the delicate and dedicated hand of Isabel Maria Ferreira Marques, mother of the current owner, that the family began representing all the arts of Typical Portuguese Filigree, in gold and silver, which they have passionately and masterfully spread to every corner of the world.
Joalharia Ferreira Marques has an iconic entrance, with wrought-iron architecture painted green in the Art Nouveau style, and stained-glass windows featuring baskets of colorful flowers. It has also served as a filming location for “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” (1969) and “Singularities of a Blonde Girl” (2009).
