Portojóia: the necessary fair that dignifies the sector
Portojóia 2023 exceeded our expectations in several aspects.
The 32nd edition of Portojóia ended successfully and consolidates its position as a reference event on an Iberian scale. Held at Exponor, from September 21st to 24th, this edition marked another chapter of dynamism and innovation. We spoke to Amélia Estevão, marketing director at Exponor, about the fair that once again featured the participation of JoiaPro.
What is your assessment of Portojóia 2023?
Portojóia 2023 exceeded our expectations in several aspects. Over the four days of the exhibition, we saw incredible dynamism and innovation across all sectors represented. The interactions between exhibitors, designers, manufacturers and buyers were enriching and the public showed a notable interest in the latest technologies and trends in the sector. The balance is positive, with an increase in the number of companies compared to the previous year, and this factor demonstrates the importance that this fair represents. We continue with our ongoing commitment to excellence, creativity and training, driving the sector towards a promising future.
We bring together, in the same space, the most important players, from manufacturers, representatives, the most renowned brands, young designers, as well as entities related to the sector, such as the Association of Goldsmiths and Watchmakers of Portugal (AORP), the Centro of Professional Training for the Goldsmithing and Watchmaking Industry (Cindor), the Municipal Council of Gondomar and also the Portuguese Assay Office. Everyone was able to discuss the new challenges in the sector and the opportunities to cooperate better with each other, contributing to strengthening the positioning of the goldsmithing, jewelry and watchmaking industry in the national and international market.
In conclusion, this edition proves what has been felt in the sector: Portuguese jewelery has been changing, so it is necessary to give voice and space to all players, techniques, ideas and ways of working. We are evolving in the way we relate, communicate and do business.
