“International Year of Health Care Workers and Carers”: 13th Silverware Competition (APIO) already started
The thirteenth edition of the APIO’s annual jewellery competition, themed “International Year of Healthcare Workers and Carers”, has already kicked off.
The APIO board decided that this year the competition would be dedicated to the “International Year of Health Workers and Carers”, thus joining the World Health Organisation (WHO) resolution, which decided that 2021 would be the International Year of Health Workers and Carers as a way of recognising the “dedication and sacrifice” of health professionals.
“The health workers have had a fundamental role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of the population. Last year and this year they have shown dedication, sacrifice and extreme commitment not only in their work, but also to beat the COVID-19 pandemic, and as such, the APIO would also like to honour them by joining in this celebration”, said an associate on their webpage.
The novelty of this edition is that from now on, the public will also be able to vote for their favourite piece through a form available on the APIO website for this purpose, with a weighting of 30% in the final classification.
The big winner of the competition will be awarded 500€.
The works in competition “may include any type of raw material with the requirement of having a component of a noble metal”.
The competition is open to all members and professionals of the sector, students and trainees of jewellery courses. They can submit up to a maximum of three pieces per participant, counting each piece as one application.
It is possible to apply from June 14 to September 17.
