Cooperation Protocol between Guimarães Municipality and CINDOR signed
Last week, in the Noble Hall of Guimarães Town Hall, the cooperation protocol between the Municipality of Guimarães and CINDOR was formalised, as a result of the partnership between the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) and the Association of Goldsmiths and Watchmakers of Portugal (AORP), to set up a center in Guimarães for vocational training in the Goldsmiths and Watchmakers industry.
At the same session, a 50-year lease agreement was signed for the use of the Convent of Santa Rosa Lima, located in an area classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the rehabilitation of which will involve an estimated investment of around 3.1 million euros by Guimarães City Council.
The signing ceremony was attended by Domingos Bragança, Mayor of Guimarães, Domingos Valente Carvalho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CINDOR, and João Faria, Chairman of the Board of AORP and member of CINDOR.
For João Faria, president of AORP and a member of CINDOR’s Board of Directors: ‘This new training center will be the cradle of new generations of professionals, a place where tradition meets technology and drives innovation and excellence. With this initiative, AORP solidifies its commitment to collaborating with the Municipality of Guimarães, significantly boosting the local industrial cluster and strengthening the sector’s competitiveness at a global level.’
