“Nothing leaves our shop that does not have our personal touch”

With over 20 years of history, the jewellery store Carla Jóias, in Carcavelos, bets on a strong family component to make a difference in the world of jewellery. The magazine JoaiPro interviewed the couple Carla and Pedro Mouthino as well as their son Joao who is responsible for the social network.

In 2010 they won our magazine’s prize, awarded as one of the 10 best Portuguese jewellers. What has changed since then?

For us, nothing changed. It is for sure that having this recognition is prestigious, but our commitment has remained the same; pride and professionalism.

Do you consider that the basis of your success is the family component?

Without a doubt, because most of our clients have practically seen João and Mariana (our children) practically being born and now they even find it funny to be attended by one of them. Being a family makes the delivery greater.

On your website, most of the compliments focus on good taste, personalised care, charm, excellent service, professionalism and “divine packaging”. Above all things, is all of this an illustration of your passion for your work?

Yes, of course. Without a doubt When you love what you do it’s halfway to being successful. Nothing goes out of our shop without having our personal touch and it fills us with pride when we read or when somebody tells us those comments or when a client comes to our shop and says “I need a gift, but it has to be wrapped just like the last one”. We do everything with great care and love.
