Leitão & Irmão revealed the Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy, a concept “materialised in silver and gold”, which reminds us of the “fluidity of the oceans and the urgency of contributing to their preservation”, a theme to which the Mirpuri Foundation pays particular attention.

Imagined and sculpted in Lisbon workshops, the Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy integrates in “a set of remarkable sailing trophies created by Casa Leitão during 200 years of work” highlights Leitão & Irmão.

The second edition of the Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy began on 4 June. The event is one of the main sailing events in the world, it features the best sailors and is marked by a sustainable, plastic-free regatta.

For the Portuguese company, the “different planes designed in silver and gold recall the movement of the waves”, while the trophy, in general, “evokes an ocean, limpid and serene”, through “fluid and shiny shapes”.

Originating in Porto, at the end of the 18th century, Casa Leitão became a benchmark in jewellery when it was appointed in 1873 by King Pedro II, Emperor of Brazil, Goldsmith of the Brazilian Imperial House, and in 1887 by King Luís I, King of Portugal, Jeweller of the Portuguese Crown.
