MUDE is the partner of the 18th APIO Jewellery Design Competition
The Portuguese Jewellery Industry Association (APIO) has announced that the Museum of Design (MUDE) will be the thematic institutional partner of the 18th APIO Jewellery Design Competition, to be held in 2026.
As part of this partnership, MUDE will host the award ceremony as well as an exhibition of the finalist pieces, and will ensure the institutional promotion of the competition. The director of MUDE will also serve on the jury for this edition.
This year’s competition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the death of Antoni Gaudí, a towering figure in architecture and the applied arts, whose work continues to inspire reflection on material, form, technique, and artistic creation — all central dimensions of jewellery design as well.
For nearly two decades, the APIO Jewellery Design Competition has served as a platform to highlight Portuguese jewellery, promoting traditional craftsmanship, authorial creation, and dialogue with culture and heritage, while maintaining an openness to contemporary perspectives.
The competition also has the institutional partnership of INCM, S.A. / Contrastaria, strengthening its institutional and cultural framework.
The Competition Regulations and Registration Form are available for download.
