“We keep traditional goldsmithing techniques alive”
Founded in 1990 in Travassos, Póvoa de Lanhoso, Ouronor is dedicated to producing its own jewellery pieces that combine tradition, design and innovation. Álvaro Freitas, the current director, explains how the Portuguese brand has remained “alive” for more than three decades, discusses today’s challenges and reflects on the company’s return to Portojóia. He notes that “these 35 years represent a legacy of trust — a journey that honours the past while always looking toward the future.”
What sets Ouronor apart in the national jewellery landscape?
Ouronor stands out for its blend of traditional craftsmanship and technological innovation. With 35 years of experience, we offer pieces that merge contemporary design with the excellence of Portuguese goldsmithing, always maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity, without losing sight of modernity. Attention to detail and close relationships with our clients make Ouronor a unique and distinctive brand in the sector.
How does Ouronor balance tradition and innovation?
We keep traditional goldsmithing techniques alive, such as filigree and meticulous handcrafting, but complement them with modern design, cutting-edge technology and advanced casting processes. The choice of materials reflects this balance: gold that brings brilliance, and the beauty of precious stones that result in exquisite jewellery pieces with elegant lines and meticulous detailing. This harmony ensures unique and versatile pieces—particularly those incorporating diamonds—allowing us to satisfy both a taste for classic designs and a preference for bold, modern and contemporary styles, always with exceptional quality. It is this fusion of past, present and future that gives soul to our brand.
