Cauny x Siza watch presented in Serralves
Cauny has teamed up with Álvaro Siza Vieira to design a new wristwatch. The presentation of the Portuguese brand’s new piece took place last November, at Serralves Museum and was attended by JoiaPro.
About this new edition, the head of Cauny, Filipe Costa Almeida, says “it’s an enormous honour to present these watches. Álvaro Siza is, perhaps, the greatest architect of our time, but also one of the easiest people to work with. At every step of the way, we have witnessed the enormous creative vitality, the quick thinking, the freedom in design, the incessant curiosity, the rigour with which he takes care of every detail. These are characteristics that have long been known; the novelty is that they reveal themselves this time on a wristwatch.”
The Minister of Culture, Pedro Adão e Silva also attended the event and stressed the importance of “valuing and stimulating culture”, showing himself pleased to be present at the presentation of the watch “of a Portuguese brand, designed by the architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, and which clearly demonstrates this way of valuing what we do”.
