Ouriversaria Tavares celebrates centenary

La Bijouterie Tavares (Ourivesaria Tavares), located Rua da Junqueira, in Póvoa de Varzim, celebrates 100 years.

The history of the Ourivesaria Tavares dates back to 1922, when Virgílio Aristides Tavares opened to his clients, for the first time, the doors of his jewellery shop,in Póvoa de Varzim. Tavares is a business that has always been kept in the family, and even nowadays, the tradition goes on, with the new generation (Carlos and Ana Tavares) taking over the commands of this century-old jewellery shop.

Its 100 years celebration is “synonymous with heritage, but also innovation. That’s why we are starting a new phase for Ourivesaria Tavares, with a new image and our eyes turned to the future”, say the founders of the Póvoa do Varzim-based company.
