Tissot Alfama exclusively for the Portuguese market
Faithful to its long tradition of honouring examples of Portuguese excellence, whether linked to heritage, history, art or culture, Tissot presents a new special edition: the Tissot Alfama watch. A tribute of the Swiss brand to the oldest and most genuine neighbourhood in the city of Lisbon. This is a special, limited and numbered edition, designed exclusively for the Portuguese market.
Alfama, the oldest neighbourhood in Lisbon, founded by the Arabs who named it “Al-hama” – an Arabic name for thermal springs – is considered by many to be the heart of the city, resembling an old village, both for its appearance and for the community that lives there. A neighbourhood visited daily by thousands of Portuguese and foreign tourists who get lost between the alleys and charms of this neighbourhood.
Tissot sees this new special edition as a deserved tribute to a neighbourhood with its own identity, recognised by all Lisboners and full of cultural complicity and solidarity with the local people. Alfama proudly displays its long tradition in Fado – welcoming typical Fado houses and the Fado Museum -, and which is well known for its celebrations of the Popular Saints and for its award-winning march.
