It was last year that the European Commission decided to designate 2018 as the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH).

Management at the Portuguese Jewellery Industry Association (APIO) wanted to join the initiative and decided that the theme of the 10th Jewellery Contest should precisely reflect that. Framed by the main objectives of promoting cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and social cohesion.

In Portugal, the EYCH 2018 will be an important moment to celebrate creativity while drawing the attention to the opportunities and challenges we are faced with today, and to reflect and debate on the transversal role of cultural heritage throughout society. Applications open on 18 June and close on 14 September.
