The new school will be a partnership between the Municipality of Guimarães, IEFP – Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional, I.P. and AORP – Associação de Ourivesaria e Relojoaria de Portugal and will have an estimated investment of around 3.1 million euros from Guimarães City Council.

The project was approved on 2 July 2024, at a meeting of the Guimarães City Council, and includes the ‘rehabilitation of the building of the former Santa Rosa Lima Convent, in Dominicas, for the installation of the Guimarães branch of Cindor – Professional Training for Goldsmiths and Watchmakers’, says the AORP.

‘This new training center will be the cradle of new generations of professionals, a place where tradition meets technology and drives innovation and excellence. With this initiative, the AORP solidifies its commitment to collaborating with the Municipality of Guimarães, significantly strengthening the local industrial cluster and reinforcing the sector’s competitiveness at a global level,’ says João Faria, president of the AORP and a member of CINDOR’s board of directors.
