With the absence of races for classic cars over the next four months, Race Ready has decided to organize a unique event that promises to challenge drivers and teams in an innovative way – the SevenFriday Classic Cup. On July 13 and 14, the Estoril Autodrome will host a special race in partnership with SevenFriday.

The SevenFriday Classic Cup will be open to all cars homologated or produced between 1960 and 1999. Lasting 60 minutes, a set of rules particular to this race will ensure that all drivers and machines can compete fairly, taking into account various factors.

To balance out the competition, the race organizers have implemented a handicap system to be applied during the mandatory pit stop. This system, based on the age and homologation of each vehicle, can introduce up to four minutes of difference in this stop.

Teams that include a rookie driver in circuit competitions will receive an additional 60 seconds of handicapping, which is a perfect opportunity for those who have always dreamed of competing at speed. Rookie drivers will receive additional training during the weekend, ensuring proper preparation for the race.

Likewise, drivers who prefer to race on slicks will be able to do so in Race Ready. However, those who opt for road-legal tires will have a 30-second advantage in pit stops.

There will also be a handicap system based on the age, type, and cylinder capacity of the cars, with the oldest and smallest vehicles benefiting.

SevenFriday, represented in Portugal by Importempo, will be the official sponsor of the event, providing unique and obligatory visibility. The winner of the race will take home an exclusive SevenFriday watch.

For Diogo Ferrão, CEO of Race Ready, this will be “an excellent event for all classic racing enthusiasts and an opportunity for anyone who wants to race before the long summer break. The handicap system will create a balance between drivers and machines. All participants will be able to test on Friday, a crucial day for anyone looking for a new car or a new teammate.”

Five thousand spectators are expected at the Autódromo do Estoril over the three days of the event and the race will take place as part of the Portuguese Speed Championship/Iberian Supercars program, with live streaming broadcast around the world.
